not hungry

Another great post Lisa. I think Gabriel's whole premise is that by eating as much nutritious food as possible, you can actually go above your weight set point. It's here that your metabolism rises, your hunger disippates, and you become a pro fat burner.

From there, you simply continue, which pushes the set point down. So you lose weight perpetually and effortlessly as long as you're doing what drives your set point down - or "makes you want to be thin."

It's when people diet below their set point that they run into the impossible forces of cravings, weakness, a lowered metabolism, and more.

Yes, a great post...
I was horrified to walk into my gym & find a cheesy handbook "Reference Guide to WLS". What's even MORE horrifying is that I suspect the surgeon may actually be a CLIENT OF MINE...
I was thinking about mailing it to you for deconstruction, but I need to do a few things myself:
A.) I'm going to write a letter of complaint to my gym - for God's sake, it's supposed to be a place promoting GOOD HEALTH not surgical mutilation!
B.) I'll post about it on my own blog (yes, even despite my "low-controversy" profile ;-)
I might write a letter to the surgeon himself, not that I think I will succeed in changing his surgical specialty! [If he is in fact the client I'm thinking of, "ya can't fix stupid". In this case I mean "stupid" as in "lacking common sense" - as I said, I just need to write my own post...]

Thanks, Matt. If it weren't for your research I might still be trying and failing at low carb to the devastation of my metabolism and blood glucose levels!.........VAL! I can't believe these conveyor belt WLS surgeons who would rather dice and slice a person's insides than help them find the root cause of their weight issues. But then again, they are in business to dice and slice. It's our business to stay informed and give a balanced perspective on all this so people have real choices rather than being convinced that WLS is their only hope. Fight the good fight!! :-)
