I've been reading you here for over a year and really find your process empowering. Given my own weight loss/health history, I gotta say that the only way to make sense of it is to listen to yourself. There's a lot today about other people's systems--your own seem so sane and well centered and they've led to such a profound shift towards health and well-being in your life. Stuff like the "eat this, don't eat that" list you posted bugs me. I mean, what if you've got a kid an a family and a job? Does that mean you can never be well if you're not able to give 80% of your time to food prep and shopping? Most people are just doing the best they can given their circumstances, might get some of it right and fall flat in other ways. We live in financially daunting times. I do the best I can to provision ethical food for my family, budget permitting, but all-or-nothing falls flat sometimes. I eat pretty low on the food chain, but give up my coffee? Please! I'd never have the energy to make my son's pureed organic sweet potatoes and broccoli and then taNobody ever got successfully lectured into getting healthy, whether by themselves or some external authority.ke him to the park without my morning jolt, especially after nursing all night when he's teething.
Wow. You find my process empowering?? That's awesome!! I hear ya about the coffee thing. I'm suffering over here and it's just me and my cats and my teaching jobs. Hey, I'll let you know if it's do-able in the long term.
Didn't mean to bug ya with the list of Do's and Dont's. Just trying to share where I'm at in this wacky process of getting well.
I don't think I can spare 80% of my time shopping and food prepping. I'll find a way to make it work. We'll see how it goes.
You have to have SOMETHING to look forward to in your life....it can't be all "do this and do that" because that is how it should be!! Bring back your coffee.....happiness has to account for something doesn't it!! There is no way in hell I would give up my coffee:).....I would give up sex before the old coffee bean!! lol
