Oh dear, I can relate... I was a vegetarian for 6 years (till my second pregnancy) and then the health problems just started piling up. Whenever I try to stay off meat for a longer period of time, I tend to eat too much sweets and other fattening foods... I really do want to go vegetarian, but...
I understand this internal struggle Lisa. I have spent most of my adult life as a vegetarian. You can imagine how difficult it was when I did full on Atkins for 6 months...woah! Now, I eat basically all vegetarian but tend to call myself a flexitarian nowadays. Just because I prefer tofu and veggies in my curry doesn't mean I would think less of, or lecture anyone who doesn't do the same. Food choices, like anything else, can become very politicised and I really don't want to play that game. I just eat differently than some others, my body my choice. I have a real affinity with pigs and think they and their flesh is very close to humans. Apparantly they have basically the same DNA as us. So, if I can choose facon instead of bacon for my ceaser salad, then I will.
