Donuts for the Cure??

"I have no problems with any growing movement
that can help the mass public
become more “aware” of a disease
WHEN there is also the proper focus
on the preventative solution.
We can all wear pins, ribbons, t-shirts,
bumper stickers or wrist bands
till we are blue in the face…

...but if it’s not helping people
to make the right changes
in their life
to help prevent diseases also,
what is the point?"

Sugar, hydrogenated oils and white flour.
Are we causing cancer or curing it??

I always wondered why food in hospitals is so overprocessed, dead and nutritionless when that's the very place it should be the best.

I also wondered why they serve junk food at events like Relay for Life and Walk for the Cure events.

It's simple.
Most folks do not see the relationship between the foods they eat and their health.

If they do, the focus is on replacing sugar with fake sweeteners (deadly)
replacing fat with starch,
replacing animal fats with processed vegetable oils,
replacing dairy with soy,
replacing white flour with whole wheat flour,
moving from potato chips to pretzels,
moving from roast beef to turkey (regardless of the chemicals and antinutrients in all deli meats),
moving from eggs to Egg Beaters or Egg Whites,
and basically replacing all the healthy foods we weren't even eating in the first place
with less healthy versions of the same crappy foods.

How are we supposed to develop healthy immune systems when we put the worst possible crap into our bodies as fuel?

I want to be healthy.
I don't want to have to cure anything, but I am.
I'm fighting for my life over here.
Adrenal fatigue (yes, let's have a race for the cure for that!
But first allopathic medicine will have to acknowledge that it exists)
is serious.
It hurts to be this tired.
It hurts to be tempted, so very tempted, to drink a nice cup of coffee to perk myself up when I'm sliding into nap zone in the middle of the day.
Sometimes, I'm not in the mood to prepare and eat my healthy, traditional foods,
but I do.

The real race for the cure is a lifelong commitment to significantly deviating from what the corrupt food industry is passing off as health food while the public gets sicker and sicker,
while we accept illness as inevitable,
while we replace our joints,
get fat,
fall down,
and die.

It has to stop.
This wickedness must stop!!

I wish I could write more but I'm so tired. I need to lie down before I prep for my three classes tomorrow.

*Lisa's Video Pick of the Day*
Ok, he talks about plant foods (fine) but he makes the mistake of calling raw meat "dead" (it's not dead it's full of blood and enzymes!) But he tells us smart things like how to SOAK OUR NUTS before we eat them to get the nutrient inhibitors out. He talks about a raw food and living food to build health. Sometimes folks get sick and THEN switch to a healthy diet!
I did.
I hope it's not too late.

Lisa, great post. I'm so glad I'm not alone in being outraged by all that. I feel so unsympathetic sometimes, but I know all the research and promotions are only adding to the problem, not helping to solve it.

I cringed when I saw those donuts. Even my son commented about how unhealthy they were. I love indoctrinating my children at an early age. :)
